There are a variety of possibilities to do something in and around Bad Steben. Here we would like to give you a small overview.
The town
The town of Steben was founded in the 12th century as a mining settlement, became a Bavarian state spa in 1832 and now called itself Bad Steben. The railway connection was added in 1889 from Hof, thus creating an ideal infrastructure for the spa.
This shaped the development and character of the market town.
Architecturally, many buildings around the spa gardens are to be emphasized. The main street leads through the centre of the village, where you can stroll or do some shopping. A variety of restaurants of all kinds and very important for a spa town, a wide range of pastry shops and coffees invite you to stay and enjoy.
Thus, it is worth to have a walk through the place, passing the station and the casino and from there through the whole spa gardens up to the beautiful view.
The pictures on the left show the spa gardens, which are a feast for the eyes at any time of the year (thanks to the employees of the spa gardens). It invites you to take a relaxing walk up to the „Schönen Aussicht“.

The Thermal Spa in Bad Steben
The central heart of the Bad Steben thermal spa is the bathing hall, which is already glazed all around from the entrance area: exercise pool with 30°C water temperature, 15-metre-long bubble line, separate whirlpool at 36°C.
In the Pavilion of Feeling, warm tropical rain awaits you under waterfall showers, pleasant scents and sensual experiences are offered by the slate steam grotto.
You will be greeted by worlds of sound in the Pavilion of Listening: Light & Sound pool, resonance tower with coloured light moods under water and laser projections, sound showers.
The spacious outdoor area with a large lawn for sunbathing will delight you with a 36° C warm brine outdoor pool with 2 – 3 % salt content, a 34° C warm flow channel with „champagne loungers“ and covered scented grotto, massage jets, neck showers and bubble loungers.
In the vitality hall, the large exercise pool is equipped with a lifting floor that allows the water depth to be changed from a minimum of 30 cm to a maximum of 180 cm. Here we offer you various aqua courses: Aqua Fit, Aqua Jogging, Aqua Power, joint-gentle aqua training, baby and toddler swimming.
